Program Requirement Information

This program is for students interested in electrical and electronic fields. It is designed to train the student in basic electricity and electronics. Graduates will find employment in many sectors of the electronics and telecommunications industries as design testers, draftspersons, engineering technicians, customer engineers, research laboratory technicians, technical writers, and electronics technicians. There are also a variety of excellent transfer opportunities available at many upper division engineering technology schools.

In the first year of the program students work on developing a strong background in the basic concepts of electrical engineering. This includes course sequences in math, physics, electrical circuits, and electronics.

During the second year, students may select electives from the areas of communications electronics, power systems, control electronics, and telecommunications. The program is updated regularly to provide programs that reflect the needs of fast growing electrical and electronics industries.
